Alex standing next to the only Centaur fossil in existence. That's right a Centaur....no they don't exist, but the faculty at UT placed this in the library to show students that you can be the person who just believes whatever anyone tells you or you can be the one who goes out and searches for the truth. Pretty cool.
Josh, David and Zach on WA Grad and Covenant Student Joel's Piedt's floor.
After this we headed down to Covenant College with is in, or we should say on the top of, Lookout Mountain, Georgia. This was what many of us thought was a tough sell. We had to drive up the mountain 4 miles, pass Ruby Falls, to get to the school, but once we got there we realized what everyone was talking about when they said it was so beautiful. The view and campus were amazing. It was so pretty up there and the view was breathtaking. The school has just about 1,000 students and in many of our opinions was very academically focused. Their student to teacher ration is 14:1 and average class size is 18. Students must live on campus till they are a senior and they have chapel 3 times per week. Friday's chapel is also know as the Joel Piedt hour as he is one of the worship leaders. That was so cool to hear as Joel is a WA grad, 2005. Some of his friends that are on our trip actually got the chance to go and walk his floor in the dorm where he is an RA. All in all Covenant, affiliated with the PCA church, was very impressive and would be an outstanding fit if you are looking for a small Christian school that focuses on academics.
Jordan, Jerlyn, Tyler and myself stumbling through the line dancing. It's a good thing Jordan knows his left from his right.
Wildhorse SaloonAfter that we finally headed to Nashville where we will get to spend more than one night. Tonight for dinner we headed to the World Famous Wildhorse saloon. It is a restaurant down on 2nd street in downtown Nashville that has great food, live country music and best of all they teach you how to line dance. We had a great time learning and stepping on each other's feet as we enjoyed our time there. Afterwards Alex Boe exclaimed that this was the most fun he as ever had. I have to say it was the best time I could possibly have had stepping on numerous stranger's feet and not getting beat up.
