Day 10....also becomes Day 11-Six Flags Over Georgia, Delayed Flights

Well our last day started out with some very interesting information. It wasn't even noon and our flight was already delayed. That's bad news and usually means it's going to get worse. Despite that we had a great time at Six Flags. I didn't really know anything about their rides, but they were very good and provided a much needed change from our typical Islands of Adventure and Busch Gardens. We were also very thankful that the rain held off as it looked like it was going to be a very wet day. After our time at the park we headed to the airport knowing that flight was at least delayed from 7:42pm until 8:18pm. After dropping off the vans we headed through security and to our terminal thinking we only were going to have 30 minutes before we would board the plane. Just when everyone had gotten something to eat we were surprised to find that our plane had been further delayed and was now going to leave at 9:19pm. It wasn't looking good given that the problem was lack of a flight crew. We finally left sometime after 10pm and arrived in Ft. Lauderdale at about 11:45pm under a slight rain. What happened next caused out trip to be extended into Thursday.

The little rain turned into a pretty bad storm with lots of lightning. They closed the runways and tarmacs down so we were stuck. I thought this was going to go quick, but I was wrong. We didn't get our luggage until 1:45am! And then when everyone's came out, Andrea Fant was left standing there without hers. After looking around we found a bag very similar to hers and figured out that hers was taken by accident. So we left and just as we were getting on 595 she got a phone call from the culprit saying that he was coming back to the airport with her bag. So we had to turn around at Davie Blvd and head back. She finally got it at 2:15am. I got home at 2:45am so they had to get home sometime after 3am.
